Philly rising sophomores shine at National Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip Camp at UMBC

Philadelphia lacrosse was again represented at the invitation-only Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip Camp conducted at the campus of UMBC this week. Thirteen Philly boys were among the 140 players from across the country that participated in three days of lacrosse in front of over 20 Division 1 coaches. Players who attended were:

Andrew Benedict, St. Joseph’s Prep, defenseman
Peter Blynn, The Haverford School. midfielder
Blake Booker, Chestnut Hill Academy, midfielder
Carson Cocco, Malvern Prep, goalie
Connor Glancy, Malvern Prep, attackman
Tyler Haab, Episcopal Academy, midfielder
Kevin McGeary, Malvern Prep, midfielder
Greg Pelton, Malvern Prep, defenseman
Will Schreiner, Avon Grove, goalie
Patrick Walsh, St Joseph Prep, midfielder
Jon Weinstein, Bishop Shanahan, defenseman
Bennett Zaba, Holy Ghost Prep, midfielder
Brian Zappala, Episcopal Academy, goalie

Zappala, Schreiner and Cocco were all recognized by Inside Lacrosse as top goalies in the class for their performances. See article for more details.
