Pennridge senior attack Julia Colyar has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham.
Colyar scored 48 goals and earned Second Team Suburban One Continental Conference honors this year. She made Distinguished Honor Roll throughout her career and played club lacrosse for Bucks Select.
Colyar will major in Hospitality Management and Tourism at FDU.
“I chose FDU because the campus is beautiful and it is very global conscious,” said Colyar. “It also is well-known for my major.”
FDU-Florham went 13-7 overall and 10-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) this year under coach Adrienne Booth Carr. The Devils advanced to the MAC finals this year, bowing to Elizabethtown.
“The lacrosse team is pretty good and they seem like a big family,” said Colyar.
Colyar noted that Pennridge struggled this year, going 5-12. But the Rams won three of their last five games.
“This year was not easy,” said Colyar. “It’s never easy to lose consecutive games in a row, but we ended strong at the end of season and we did come together and win in the end.”
