Hatboro-Horsham senior defenseman Brock Minninger has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Centenary University.

Hatboro-Horsham senior Brock Minninger has committed to Centenary

Minninger, who was named Most Improved last season by his teammates, chose Centenary because of the team’s camaraderie.

“The teammates and the coach made me feel really at home compared to other schools,” Minninger said. “[The team visit] went really well. I got along with the guys and the coach.”

Minninger joins fellow Hatboro-Horsham defenseman Kyle Peters as a Centenary recruit. Another teammate, attackman Kevin Sweeney is headed to Division III King’s College.

Minninger is pleased how the Hatters have overcome many obstacles this year under rookie coach J.P. Banks to improve their record to 10-9 and advance to the second round of the District 1 tournament. Tonight they play at top-seeded and two-time defending champion Conestoga at 6 p.m.

Minninger said the Hatters have endured a rugged schedule that included non-league foes Germantown Academy, Garnet Valley, Manheim Township, Coppell (Texas) and Springfield-Delco.

“We had a rough start,” Minninger said. “We had the number one hardest schedule out there and I think we handled it the best we could.

“And right now we’re stepping it up.”

Other Philly seniors committed to Centenary include Souderton goalie Grant Nice, Perkiomen Valley attackman Josh Lynn, Central Bucks East defenseman/LSM Scott Morgan and Pennsbury midfielder/attackman Josh Caven.
