Conwell-Egan senior midfielder Matt Macenka has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Elizabethtown College.
Macenka is planning on majoring in criminal justice at Elizabethown, with hopes to work in federal law enforcement.
Macenka noted that the campus was a perfect fit.
“I could see myself there for four years,” he said. “Also, the guys on the team were great during my visit and so was Coach (Terry) Corcoran. I just really liked everything about the school.”
Head coach Corcoran led the Blue Jays to an overall winning record of 47-31 in his first five years.
“I’m really excited about going there because they have a strong lacrosse program that is on the rise and I like the direction that it’s heading in,” said Macenka, who has played club lacrosse for Twist.
Macenka is optimistic this year that Conwell-Egan can challenge for a Catholic League playoff berth.
“We lost a lot of offense fire power to graduation,” said Macenka. “But we have a strong group of guys this year and I expect to go to the Catholic League playoffs this year.”
