Thursday’s boys’ roundup: GA tops Malvern Prep; Unionville, Great Valley, Springfield-D earn wins

Reid Weber erupted for six goals and Jake Adoni made 13 saves as host Germantown Academy held Malvern Prep scoreless for the final three periods to earn a 6-1 victory over the Friars today in Inter-Ac League boys’ lacrosse.

The Patriots improved to 7-1 and 2-1 in the Inter-Ac. Malvern fell to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the league.

Beau Jones and Billy Oppenheimer each added two assists for the Patriots. Vince Travaglini scored for Malvern Prep.

Unionville 9, Bayard Rustin 6

James Moss scored four goals as the Indians earned the Ches-Mont League win.

Mike Steward paced Rustin with two goals.

St. Augustine (NJ) 10, Penn Charter 8

Tyler White scored four goals and Joey Sankey added two goals and two assists while Shane Carr had two goals and an assist for the Quakers in the non-league loss. Jackson Tamasitis made 14 saves for PC.

Great Valley 11, Bishop Shanahan 10

Greg Merrill and Eric Gartner each had three goals and an assist to help the Patriots earn the Ches-Mont League win.

Joe McErlean led Shanahan with four goals and Dylan Alderman added three.

Springfield-Delco 7, Penncrest 4

Jesse Martin had two goals and an assist to lead the Cougars to the Central League win.

Avon Grove 16, Octorara 6

The undefeated Devils bolted to an 8-0 first-period lead and coasted to the Ches-Mont victory.
