After starting the season with four losses to top-rated teams, the Hatboro-Horsham boys’ lacrosse team earned its first victory of the year Friday by downing host Souderton, 13-9, in a Suburban One Continental Conference game.
Kevin Sweeney paced the Hatters (1-4, 1-1) with three goals and three assists as first-year coach John Banks claimed his first victory. Jake Durkin and Sean Saunders each added two goals and an assist and Jimmy Murphy scored two goals. Marc Poust made 11 saves as Hatboro-Horsham bolted to a 10-4 halftime lead.
Trevor Downing, Cam Wiercinski, Nick Agostinelli and Jimmy Durkin also scored for the Hatters.
Ridge Schultz paced the Indians (2-3, 1-1) with four goals and three assists while Tyler MacDougall and J.P. Carroll each scored twice and Bryan Ziegler scored once. Grant Nice made 14 saves.
Owen J. Roberts 14, Boyertown 8
Kohl Batdorf collected six goals and two assists and John Pennell had two goals and two assists to help the Wildcats claim the PAC-10 win. Kevin Higgins also scored twice and Gabe
Szczepanek made 13 saves.
Tyler Fuhrman, Jake McKee and Alex Millard each scored twice for the Bears.
Central Bucks East 16, Pennridge 4
Ian Gill and Matt Heim each scored three goals and Matt Brodzik had two goals and one assist while Eric Riva scored twice for the Patriots in the Suburban One Continental win.
Freedom 8, Delaware Valley Charter 2
Daravann Lok was a standout in goal for Delaware Valkley with 16 saves while Sambatt Choub and Gary Dowe each scored once.
