Agnes Irwin junior attack Campbell Crochiere has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Richmond University.
Campbell received All Inter-Ac League honorable mention honors in her junior season. During the summer she plays club lacrosse for Ultimate Goal.
An honor student and class representative for the Athletic Association at Agnes Irwin, Campbell is undecided on a major at Richmond.
“From the moment I visited Richmond I fell in love with it,” she said. “It’s a beautiful campus.
“I felt that Richmond offered great things both academically and athletically. The coaches at Richmond are amazing and I can’t wait to join the team and play for them in college.”
Campbell joins teammate Lauren Willcox (Lehigh) as Division I frecruits. At Richmond, Campbell will join two Philly alums, freshman attack Courtney Campbell (Radnor) and junior goalkeeper Victoria Roebuck (Springside School).
Last season Agnes Irwin finished 5-11, but Campbell is very optimistic for 2011.
“I am very excited for this season,” Campbell said. “We have some talented new underclassmen that are meshing well with returning varsity players. I believe this will greatly contribute to our success as a team.”
Campbell would like to thank her parents for their support as well as her coaches from Agnes Irwin and Ultimate Goal.
