Girls’ lacrosse: Archbishop Carroll holds off Archbishop Wood, 12-10, in Catholic League

Visiting Archbishop Carroll bolted to an 8-2 halftime lead and held off a late rally by Archbishop Wood to claim a key 12-10 victory today in Catholic League girls’ lacrosse.

Maddie Lesher led the Patriots (3-1) with three goals and Hannah Schmitt added two goals and two assists.

Caroll has won the last 10 Catholic League crowns, defeating Wood in the finals the past six years. The Pats have not lost a league game (regular season or playoffs) since 2001

Rachel Flynn, Natalie Schmitt and Samantha Moore each scored twice for Archbishop Carroll.

Caitlin McCartney led Wood with four goals and an assist and Nicole Hayes scored twice.
