Coatesville senior attack Morgan Sherriff made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Bloomsburg University.

Sherriff is highly involved academically at Coatesville. She’s a member of the National Honor Society while also being the secretary for Student Council.

At Bloomsburg she will study elementary education. She’s wanted to be an elementary school teacher for a long time now and would love to teach kids in the first or second grade.

“I had my eye on them (Bloomsburg) for awhile now, we were always talking,” Morgan said.

“Bloomsburg is the perfect fit for me; I didn’t want the commitment that comes with being a Division I player.”

Bloomsburg competes in the PSAC and enjoyed a successful season last year. The Huskies went 12-6 and advanced to the semifinals before losing to Lock Haven.

The location of Bloomsburg was important.

“It was a big part, I wanted to stay in-state but I didn’t want to be too close,” she said.

Sherriff is the third Philly senior to commit to Bloomsburg. The others are Carly Ball (North Penn) and Allie Campbell (Owen J. Roberts).

“I committed to Bloomsburg because of what they offer academically and athletically,” said Sherriff. “The education program does a great job of setting you up with a job after graduation.”
