Men’s recruit: Delaware lands junior attackman Dines from Connecticut prep school

Westminster School (Conn.) junior attackman Andy Dines has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.

Dines was an All-State pick and a captain for Breck School (Minn.) last year before transferring to Westminster this season.

He plans to study Business at Delaware, which won the Colonial Athletic Association championship last year under veteran coach Bob Shillinglaw.

“I chose Delaware because I felt it was a great fit academically and athletically,” Dines said. “The lacrosse program has a history of winning, and the coaching staff really impressed me. The program continues to be successful every year, and that is something I wanted to be a part of.”

Dines plays for the Minnesota Elite Club Team.

He also considered Fairfield, Towson, Brown, Air Force, and St. Lawrence.
