Germantown Academy junior midfielder Brooke Kiley has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kiley was a First Team Inter-Ac League pick in 2010 when she scored a team-high 62 goals. She plays club lacrosse for Ultimate Goal.
Kiley also played on the Philly1 squad at the National Tournament in May and was selected to try out for the USA U-19 World Cup team in the summer. She also has been a two-time All-Inter-Ac First Team pick the past two seasons in field hockey and will serve as a captain next year.
Kiley, a consistent Honor Roll student, also considered Princeton, Virginia and Northwestern. She plans to study Business and enter the Wharton School.
“For me, Penn has everything I was looking for in a school; great academics and a top lacrosse program,” she said. “I love how the campus has the excitement of the city, but doesn’t always feel like you’re in the city – it’s truly unique.
“But what I really love is the chemistry I feel with the coaches and the team. I knew it was the perfect fit. Coach Karin Brower Corbett is an amazing coach and I look forward to playing for her.”
Brower Corbett has guided the Quakers to four straight Ivy League championships and into the NCAA Final Four two times since 2007.
Kiley expects Germantown Academy to challenge in the Inter-Ac in 2011.
“My high school team has great potential and we are excited for this coming season,” she said. “We have several players returning from injuries and we hope to compete for the Inter-Ac title.”
