Wednesday’s college roundup: Ursinus women deal Haverford first loss of year, 10-9

Emily Diehl scored the game-winner with 1:41 to play as host Ursinus College defeated Haverford College, 10-9, Wednesday in Centennial Conference play, dealing the Fords their first loss of the year.

Emily Hummel tallied the game-tying goal and had three scores for the Bears (6-2, 2-0). Josie Ferry (Pennsbury) scored three for Haverford (8-1, 0-1).

Lindsay Urban (Central Bucks East) and Emily Sezack each had two goals for Urisnus while Alexa Pesce scored twice for Haverford.

Division I

Virginia 22, Old Dominion 7

Defender Marghi Walters (Penn Charter) tallied her first goal of the year and led the defense to help the No. 4 Cavaliers (8-3) handle the Monarchs.

Division III
Cabrini 26, Centenary 3

Steve Kapp tallied five goals to lead the Cavaliers (6-3, 2-0) to the CSAC rout.

Gwynedd-Mercy 11, Neumann 3

Nicholas Hummel scored three goals to power the Griffins (6-2, 1-0) to the CSAC win. Matt Toth (Coatesville) led Neumann (1-7, 0-2) with a pair.

Marywood 9, Immaculata 6

Joe Keller (Owen J. Roberts) and Tom Hartney (Interboro) each had two goals for the Mighty Macs (5-4, 0-2) in their CSAC loss.
