Ryan Higgins scored four goals and Eric Sanders added three goals and four assist as visiting Downingtown West defeated Bayard Rustin, 14-1, today to claim a share of its first Ches-Mont League boys’ championship.
The Whippets (16-2) tied with district rival Downingtown East at 9-1 atop the standings. Both Downingtown teams will await word for their seeds in the upcoming District 1 tournament.
Eric Rankel added two goals for the Whippets and Tyler Rankel had a goal and an assist while Brad Shenberger, Dillon Ickala, Skyler Vanderbrook, and Jim Scherer each scored once. Connor Mullen added two assists while Luke McCory and Tyler McWilliams each had one assist.
Dustin Keen added 11 saves in goal.
Penn Charter 10, Lawrenceville School (NJ) 8
Amdy Grabowski had four goals and one assist, Joey Sankey contributed one goal and five assists and Jackson Tamasitis made 16 saves as the host Quakers closed their season 9-9. PC awaits its seeding for the Inter-Ac League tournament.
Tyler Earley and Tyler White each scored twice while Shane Carr scored once and Grant Guyer had an assist.
Malvern Prep 10, Holy Ghost Prep 4
The Friars closed their regular season at 13-7 as TJ Hanzsche and Mike Dougherty each scored three goals.
Garnet Valley 16, Unionville 11
Mike Montella scored six goals while Eric Warden added four goals and four assists as the Jaguars closed their regular season at 13-4. Jules Raucci and Ricky Lehman added two goals each and Bill Neilson made 13 saves.
Unionville, which finished 10-8, got five goals from Billy Donovan and two from Mike Nowoswiat. Richard Kaiser, Mike Sundry, Shane Hart and Tommy Apruzzese each scored once.
Upper Darby 10, Cardinal O’Hara 7
Dillon Burke made 22 saves and Joe Brown scored four goals to lead the Royals, who finished 10-8.
Great Valley 12, Sun Valley 9
Eric Gartner scored six goals nd Dan Buccholz added three as the Patriots won their Ches-Mont League finale.
Zac Gremminger led the Vanguards with three goals.
