“We’re all pretty intelligent players and it was pretty easy to get along with these guys. Hopefully, this gives me a lot of exposure; it’s what we’re all looking for.”

“It was a great experience. It was nice because I’m from right around the area. I like that there weren’t many breaks between the games; just a lot of playing. It was nice having great kids around me.”

Notes and quotes on sophomores (Class of 2013) during the morning games at today’s Philly Boys’ Lacrosse Showcase:

Stefan Bergman, La Salle defenseman (Team 5): “We only have four poles on our team so we have no subs. It’s going to be a long day; I haven’t come off the field yet so it’s good. I’m just trying to do my best. We were talking about playing a zone defense, but we want to play one-on-one. We have two wins and we’ll keep playing hard.

“This is my first fall tournament with the coaches around, so I am getting used to it. But so far it’s been going pretty well.”

Jake Kaiser, Byram Hills, NY, face-off specialist (Team 5): “I’m from Westchester County, 45 minutes north of the city. My cousin is from the area and played in this before and my dad thought it would good for me to come down here. I feel like I am having fun and playing my game.

“I’m looking for a school, D1 to D3, with good academics and good lacrosse.”

Mike Cherry, Radnor attackman (Team 4): “I think its been a great tournament. We had kids came out from all over, so it was nice to get a taste from every part of Philly.

“Our team did pretty well. We had good ball movement, and we worked like a team quickly. I think I played pretty well; I had some nice feeds.”

Note:Bergman and Kaiser also were named to the Gait Sophomore Fab Forty teams.
