Monday’s scholastic boys’ roundup: Owen J. Roberts deals Spring-Ford first loss

Tyler Graham had three goals and two assists and Jarrett Szczenski scored three goals while Andrew Boyer made 17 saves as visiting Owen J. Roberts defeated host Spring-Ford tonight, 13-10, in a key Pioneer Athletic Conference game.

Kohl Batdorf added two goals and four assists and Connor Kelly had two goals and an assist as the Wildcats (6-3, 6-0) dealt the Rams (9-1, 6-1) their first loss of the year and took over sole possession of first place in the PAC-10.

Dylan Swope added a goal and an assist for the Wildcats and Jimy Hennessy won 17 of 27 face-offs.

For the Rams, Brian Bock had four goals and two assists and Drew Thomas had two goals and two assists while Billy McCabe had a goal and one assist.

Methacton 13, St. Pius X 1

Sean Aronow and Cody Sobocinski led the offense as the Warriors (6-2, 5-2) defeated the Winged Lions in the PAC-10.

Boyertown 9, Pottsgrove 3

Matt Salvetti had three goals and two assists and Matt Straface made seven saves to pace the Bears to the PAC-1 win.

Abington 15, CR North 6

Matt Rambo had five goals and one assist and Joey Jones had three goals and three assists while Ryan Ambler added two goals and five assists to power the Ghosts to the Suburban One National Conference victory.

Wissahickon 12, Springfield-Montco 2

Brian Dick and Nick Lucchesi each had three goals and two assists while Shane Ziegler had two goals and two assists and Jeff Gebert sclred twice to help the Trojans ease to the Suburban One American win.

Chris Crudele led the Spartans with two goals.

Norristown 12, Upper Moreland 0

Shane Franzone erupted for nine goals and Jake Naseef added two while goalie Mike Malloy made nine saves to help the Eagles claim their first win of the year. Sean Calhoun added a goal and an assist.

For the Bears, goalie Nick DeBalko had 14 saves.

Lansdale Catholic 14, Roman Catholic 5

Chuck Karr had three goals and one assist while Zak Ruch and Kevin Edling each scored three times to help the Crusaders claim the Catholic League win.

Sun Valley 12, Devon Prep 0

Kyle Gillan had four goals and two assists and Frank Johnson added three goals and two assists while Bobby Clemens contributed a goal and five assists for the vanguards.
