Recent Perkiomen Valley graduate Bryan Cooney (midfielder) has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Lebanon Valley College.
Cooney helped the Vikings finish 12-7 and reach the Pioneer Athletic Conference and District 1 playoffs in 2010. He was selected to the PAC 10 All-Academic Team this year.
Cooney is excited to play for Lebanon Valley, which went 2-13 in its first season last year under former Johns Hopkins and North Carolina coach John Haus.
“I chose LVC because I really liked the campus,” Cooney said. “I also thought that playing for a startup program under Coach Haus was an opportunity that was hard to pass up.”
Cooney will be joined by PV teammates and brothers Ryan (defenseman) and Kevin (goalie) Krasley.
Cooney said he’ll look back on the 2010 season with fond memories.
“This past season at PV was fun because we got the program back on the right track, by making it to league playoffs and then districts,” said Cooney, who also played for Black Bear Montgomery County last fall. “The fact that we had such a close-knit group of seniors made the season even more enjoyable.’
