Hannum’s Harley-Davidson of Media and Chadds Ford has announced that it has chosen the HEADstrong Foundation as its charity of choice for this year’s 10th annual charity Dam Run bike event.
The 10th Annual Dam Run will be hosted at Hannum’s Harley Davidson at its Chadds Ford location (1241 Baltimore Pike) on Sunday, Sept. 26. Ride registration is by donation only and will benefit the HEADstrong Foundation.
The event begins with registration at 8 a.m. with the riders departing at 10 a.m. The Dam Run will ride the back roads of Chester County for the Conowingo Dam. The first 500 riders will receive a free t-shirt with the Hannum’s and HEADstrong Foundation logos. Riders will return at 12 for food, live music by Lecompt, a fashion show, games and prizes.
Motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere are invited to participate in this event, which will honor the foundation established by Nick “HEAD” Colleluori, a Ridley graduate who passed away four years ago after a battle against Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
The mission of the HEADstrong Foundation is to support and raise funds for blood cancer cure, treatment and research and to raise public awareness about the disease.
The year’s run has special meaning to Tom Hannum, who coached Colleluori in youth leagues. Hannum is the head coach at Downingtown West.
