Duke’s LC wins top HS division at Tri-State; Duke’s 2 goes 6-1

The Duke’s Lacrosse Club went 7-0 and claimed the Senior AA (top scholastic division) at the Tri-State National tournament last week in New Jersey.

The Duke’s defeated Tri-State White, 3-2, to win the crown and also had a

clutch 4-3 overtime win over Duke’s 2 as Eric Gartner (Great Valley) won it after a patented split dodge.

Duke’s 2 finished a strong 6-1 overall.

Outstanding players for Duke’s 1 were Hank Altshuler (Lower Merion) and Dustin Keen (Downingtown West) in goal; Jon Sax (St. Joseph’s Prep) on defense, Gartner and Shane Morrell (Episcopal Academy) on attack and; and MVP Drew Kennedy (Malvern Prep) at the face-off X.

Duke’s 2 outstanding players were Tyler Morrell (Episcopal Academy) and Matt Barrett (Malvern Prep) in goal; Troy Moyer (Boyertown), Bryan Garrahan (Archmere Academy) and Ryan Guittare (Garnet Valley) on defense; and Jeremy Omrod (Holy Ghost Prep), Brandyn O’Connell (Downingtown East) and Andrew Caldwell (Penncrest) on attack.
