Mullen High (CO) senior attackman Brian Kormondy has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.
Kormondy said he also considered Denver, Drexel, Brown, Penn, Sacred Heart and Hartford before he settled on the Newark school.
“The campus was awesome, the coaches were awesome and the lacrosse is obviously really good,” Kormondy said. “I took my official visit there, and right away I knew that’s where I wanted to be.”
As a junior, Kormondy helped lead Mullen to the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship game for the first time in school history. He said he anticipates the transition to the college game to be challenging.
“It’s definitely going to be a lot different,” Kormondy said. “The intensity is going to be a lot higher. On the East Coast, everyone’s a good player, especially at the DI level.”
