Corona del Mar (Cal.) senior defenseman Donald Dalton has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Drexel University.

Dalton said he also considered Hofstra, Air Force and Penn State before settling on the Philadelphia-based school.

“My high school coach is really good friends with the coach there, and I really liked it,” Dalton said. “It’s a pretty good academic school, and they have a pretty good lacrosse program. I like the location, and it seemed like a good fit.”

Dalton added that having current Division I players and Corona del Mar alums Noah Molnar (Lehigh) and Ryan Mix (Notre Dame) as high school teammates has helped prepare him to make the transition to the college level.

“I’ve grown up playing with kids who have gone on to play DI,” Dalton said. “I’m confident I’ll be able to handle it. It’s exciting.”
