Eleven Philly players highlighted in listing of ESPN RISE Top 50 seniors

Eleven Philly boys have been listed among the Top 50 seniors as named by ESPN RISE in its weekly “On The RISE’ feature.

The feature, released today, capped a five-week series of articles that highlighted the top players at each position.

*No. 7, Haverford School long stick midfielder Goran Murray (Maryland) – Murray was a First Team Inter-Ac League and All-Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association (EPSLA) selection for the Inter-Ac

co-champion Fords (20-4). Murray also was selected to the ESPN RISE Warrior 40 team and played for the Philly squad at the Under Armour Underclassmen Games this summer. He was listed at No. 29 in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior Young Guns feature this summer. He also was named as a top defenseman by Lax.com.

*No. 9, Penn Charter attackman Joey Sankey (North Carolina) – Sankey, earned US Lacrosse All-American, All-Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association and Phillylacrosse.com honors. He also was chosen to participate in the ESPN RISE Warrior 40 event and played for Team Philly in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games. Sankey was listed by Inside Lacrosse as the No. 6 Young Gun in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior feature this summer. Sankey had 47 goals and 31 assists in 2010.

*No. 11, Haverford School midfielder Matt Walters (Syracuse) – 20-4 season and a share of the Inter-Ac League championship as well as the Inter-Ac Invitational title. Walters was an All-Phillylacrosse.com and Under Armour Underclassmen pick while McGrath was an ESPN RISE Warrior 40 and Under Armour Underclassmen selection. He was listed at No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior Young Guns feature this summer.

*No. 13, Salesianum School defenseman Ryan Kilpatrick (North Carolina) – Kilpatrick was a US Lacrosse All-American, a Warrior 40 pick, a member of the Philly Under Armour team and an All-Phillylacrosse.com pick for the Sals, who reached the Delaware state finals. He was listed at No. 21 in the IL Young Guns feature

*No. 16, La Salle attackman Kevin Forster (Maryland) – He earned US Lacrosse All-American, All-Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association and Phillylacrosse.com honors. He also was chosen to participate in the ESPN RISE Warrior 40 event. Forster was listed by Inside Lacrosse as Young Gun No. 13 last month. Forster had 41 goals and 34 assists in leading the Explorers to the state finals last year and has been a starter on two state title winning squads.

*No. 18, Conestoga long stick midfielder Brian Dailey (Duke) – Dailey was a US Lacrosse, All-EPSLA, All-Phillylacrosse.com and First Team Central League pick for the Pioneers last year, helping them claim the state title. Dailey also was listed as the No. 14 Young Gun by Inside Lacrosse.

*No. 27, Haverford School midfielder Brendan McGrath (Princeton) – McGrath was an ESPN RISE Warrior 40 and Under Armour Underclassmen selection as well as a First Team Inter-Ac pick for the co-champion Fords. He was listed at No. 35 in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior Young Guns feature this summer and scored 30 goals for the

*No. 30, Unionville long stick midfielder Rich O’Neill (undecided) – A First Team Ches-Mont League pick in 2010, he led the Indians to the District 1 tourney.

*No. 31, Haverford School attackman Carl Walrath (North Carolina) – Walrath earned US Lacrosse All-American, All-Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association and Phillylacrosse.com honors. He also was chosen to participate in the ESPN RISE Warrior 40 event and for Team Philly in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games. Walrath was listed by Inside Lacrosse as Young Guns No. 12 last month and had 35 goals and 48 assists.

*No. 32, Haverford School goalie Conor Kelly (Notre Dame) – Kelly was a First Team Inter-Ac League pick and also competed in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games. He was listed at No. 43 in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior Young Guns feature this summer.

*No. 39, La Salle’s Jack Bogorowski (Johns Hopkins) – Bogorowski, a First Team Catholic League North Division pick, helped the Explorers win the Catholic League crown and advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association title game. He was listed at No. 30 in the Inside Lacrosse Rising Senior Young Guns feature this summer.
