Shanahan has shown a nice progression in the past few years. Three years ago the Eagles went 2-16 and in 2008 they were 7-11. Last year they went 7-10.

“For the girls who are seniors, during their freshman year, they were 2-16 with most loses in excess of 10 goals,” Goforth said. “This 2010 season, their senior year, they went 8-8 in the regular season with a bid to the playoffs for the first time in over six years.

“Three of our losses this year were only by one goal and two of those were in overtime.”

The Eagles’ team consisted of: Allison Sweeney, Danielle Touissaint, Megan Dunn, Colleen Holmes, Gina Eberwein, Liz Duke, Leah Peppelman, Summer Jaros, Maria Caridi, Ashley Zink, Hannah Goforth, Casey Briglia, Kelsey Jaros, Caroline Kuchinsky, Kathryn Skahan, Jackie Betz, Kathryn Depalo, and Bridget Rush.
