Public League boys’ tournament: George Washington closes out perfect season with two shtouts

George Washington finished off a perfect season in the Public League by shutting out Northeast, 4-0, and FitzSimons, 7-0, today in the league’s Mini Tournament at the Gratz Supersite.

The Eagles, who won the regular season title, closed out at 8-0 as Deckland Sweeney made a combined seven saves to earn the shutout wins.

Against Northeast, Jason Link and Rob Young each had a goal and an assist while Danny Sansom and Bogdan Voschilo each scored once.

In the victory over FitzSimons, Brendan Gilligan scored three goals while Link had a goal and an assist and Young, Voschilo and AJ Suhlanis each scored once.
