Scholastic boys: Audenried wins first game, downs Mastery Charter in Public League

Thomas Thompkins scored two goals and Benjamin Canty and Tyshean Hunter each added one as Audenried defeated host Mastery Charter-Shoemaker, 4-2, Tuesday for its first win in the Philadelphia Public League.

The Rockets improved to 1-3 and received a standout defensive effort overall, led by Matthew Miller and Dontae McCleary. Marcus Lockley made six saves in goal as the Rockets led from start to finish.

“What made our first win more special is that it came in a Public League competition,” aid assistant coach Bob Miller.
