Germantown Academy senior midfielder Sidney Jacobs has committed to play at Brown University.

Jacobs said other family members have gone to Brown and believes the strong academic reputation of the Ivy League school in providence, R.I., was too difficult to pass up.

“When I went there I felt it was definitely somewhere where I would fit in,” she said. It’s the perfect school to challenge myself academically and athletically.

The education is great and I’ll be able to play really good lacrosse. Also, my Great Aunt went there and so did two of my cousins. I have always heard good things about the school.”

Jacobs, who won two honors (Drexel Book Award and Blazer Pin Award) for academic excellence and athletics last year, plans to study psychology.”

She also is excited about the coming lacrosse season. GA figures to again contend for the Inter-Ac League championship.

“We have a lot of good seniors coming back,” said Jacobs, a tri-captain. “It’s going to be exciting and challenging and I think we will end up doing well.”
