La Salle whips McDonogh, 8-3; Springfield-Delco edges Comeswogue (NY) on Gildea goal to stay perfect

    Randy Forster and brother Kevin Foster scored three goals apiece and goalie Niko Amato was brilliant with 13 saves as host La Salle whipped McDonogh (Md.), 8-3, today in non-league boys’ lacrosse.

    Peter Schwartz and Derek Bogorowski also scored for the Explorers, who raced to a 7-1 halftime lead and won their fourth straight to improve to 5-3. McDonogh is 8-3.

Springfield-Delco 7, Comeswogue (NY) 6

    The visiting Cougars improved to 8-0 as Bobby Gildea (two goals) notched the game-winner late in the contest.

    Josh Cavanaugh, Colin Keegan, Joe Venit, John Cugini and Larry McLaughlin all scored once for Springfield and goalie Austin Kaut made nine saves. Coneswogue (2-1) was coming off an 11-10 victory over Manhasset, which at the time was ranked in the top 10 in the Inside Lacrosse Power Rankings.

Avon Grove 13, Spring-Ford 8

    Zach Johnson scored three goals while Damien Sobieski and Pat Brodie each had two goals for the Devils (6-1) in the non-league win. Tyler Novotny led the Rams with a hat trick.
