Drexel women improve to 2-0 with a 10-6 triumph over American

    Becca Drylie-Perkins, Mariana Uribe (Academy of Notre Dame) and Charlotte Wood (Conestoga) recorded three goals each today as host Drexel defeated American 10-6 in a non-conference game played on a cold and rainy Vidas Field.

    Redshirt Freshman Jaclyn Klunder (Conestoga) chipped in with three assists, all on Drylie-Perkins goals, while goalie Lauren LaBella allowed just four goals and made eight saves in recording the victory.

    Drexel moved to 2-0 this season while American dipped to 0-2.

    Senior captain Josie Haller had a solid game on the defensive end picking up four groundballs and causing three turnovers, both team-high totals. Katie Blazer added a team-high four draw controls and two groundballs and sophomore defender Sarah Bauer (West Chester East) had three groundballs..

    The Dragons will return to action Saturday when they travel down the road to Franklin Field to face No. 5 Penn. Game time is 1:00 p.m.

Penn State 20, Lafayette 7

    Jackie Eastman (Springfield-Delco) and Laura Lincecome (Conestoga) scored two goals apiece while Mary Dean (Cheltenham) added one to lead the Nittany Lions to the road win. Goalie Stephanie Ellis (Radnor) played the opening half and allowed five goals. Kristin Ruminski (Boyertown) scored once for the Leopards.

Stanford 15, Albany 10

    Amanda Schwab (Harriton) and Julie Christy (Conestoga) each had two goals, Ashley Aruffo (Episcopal Academy) had a goal and an assist and Bess Siegfried (Agnes Irwin) had one goal to help the host Cardinal improve to 3-0.

Loyola 15, Stony Brook 7

    Maura Kenny (Villa Maria Academy) scored once as the Greyhounds won their season opener.
