Conestoga’s Lord, Ikeda head list of 11 early signees for Maryland’s men’s team

Conestoga’s Ryan Lord and Casey Ikeda are two of 11 seniors that signed National Letters of Intent for Maryland’s men’s lacrosse team during the early signing period.

Rated as the fourth-best defender in the country according to Inside Lacrosse’s Top 50 Young Guns Rising Seniors list … is ranked 21st overall on that list … 2009 member of the Under Armour Underclassman All-America team for Philadelphia … named to the 2009 EPSLA All-Star Junior Showcase … a three-sport star that also excels in football and basketball … was first team All-Chester County and honorable mention all-state on the gridiron in 2008 … team captain as a senior … listed as one of the top 100 Philadelphia football recruits … is also an outstanding student, maintaining a 3.6 GPA … three-time member of the Conestoga Academic Honor Roll … joins Conestoga teammate Ryan Lord in this year’s recruiting class.

Rated as the seventh-best defender in the country according to Inside Lacrosse’sTop 50 Young Guns Rising Seniors list … is ranked 45th overall on that list … 2009 member of the Under Armour Underclassman All-America team for Long Island, which won the tournament … named a member of the 2009 Long Island Catholic League all-league team … finished his junior year with 72 groundballs, two goals and one assist … a two-sport star, he also plays wide receiver on the football team … earned all-league honors as a junior in 2008.

Two-time member of the Under Armour Underclassman All-America team for Washington, D.C. … named to the 2009 Baltimore/Washington High School Tewaaraton Watch List … team captain and player of the year as a junior … posted 31 goals, 21 assists and 55 caused turnovers in 2009 … helped lead Queen Anne’s to a regional championship and a spot in the state finals … a two-time all-conference selection … member of the 2008 Free State team … also a standout on the gridiron as three-year starter at five different positions … 2009 team captain … led the team in touchdowns … selected to the regional All-Star game … led the team in receptions, interceptions and return yards as a junior … an honor roll student.

Honorable mention All-New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association selection as a junior after scoring 35 goals and adding 23 assists … his 58 points were the second-most ever for a junior in a season at Bergen Catholic … scored seven goals and added an assist for an eight-point performance against Indian Hills (N.J.) … had the third-best sophomore point total with 36 on 23 goals and 13 assists in 2008 … also scooped up 20 groundballs as a sophomore … also a standout on the hardcourt … a two-year starter at point guard for the Bergen Catholic basketball team.

Two-time member of the Under Armour Underclassman All-America team for Baltimore … helped lead the Dons to the 2008 MIAA championship … played with current Terps Joe Cummings and MJ Leonard on that squad … also a standout basketball player … was a part-time starter/6th-man on the 2008-09 hoops team that finished second in the Baltimore Catholic League Tournament.

Archbishop Spalding

Named All-Anne Arundel County by The Capital after scoring 23 goals and adding seven assists as a junior … his 2009 season was highlighted by a six-goal performance against nationally-ranked St. Andrews (Fla.) … helped lead Spalding to its first ever MIAA “A” playoff berth as a sophomore in 2008 … scored 14 goals and added 13 assists, playing on the first midfield line … also a standout performer at linebacker for the Cavalier football team … led the team in tackles as a junior in 2008 and was named to The Capital’s all-county team, as well as All-MIAA and all-state (small schools) … will join his brother Kevin, who is a freshman on this year’s Terrapin squad.

2009 member of the Under Armour Underclassman All-America team for Long Island, which won the tournament … named team MVP as a junior after totaling 53 points on 21 goals and 32 assists … honorable mention all-county selection … two-time selection to the Section 8 Academic All-Conference team … also a standout on the gridiron … as a senior in 2009, broke Carey’s single-season records with 20 touchdowns, while rushing for more than 1,000 yards … two-time first team all-county … named team MVP in 2008 after rushing for 11 TDs and more then 1,300 yards.

2009 US Lacrosse High School All-American … led the Red Raiders with 97 points on 68 goals and 29 assists … had an 11-point game en route to helping Fairport to the 2009 Division I championship and the Section V Class A finals … named to theDemocrat & Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Super 16 … selected to the Section V Class A All-Tournament team … a two-time all-league honoree … has totaled 171 points in his three seasons on 120 goals and 51 assists … a two-sport standout he is also a striker on the Fairport soccer team … helped lead the Red Raiders to the 2007 and 2008 league championship … has scored 14 goals and added four assists to help Fairport reach the Section V playoffs in 2009.
