College wrap: St. Joe’s women top GW, 11-8; Temple defeats St. Bonaventure, 14-12

    Helene Tursi scored four goals and Jenna Martino added three while Meghan McDevitt added two as host St. Joseph’s defeated George Washington, 11-8, Friday in Atlantic 10 Conference women’s lacrosse.

    Jessica Westlake and Grace Dinn also scored for the Hawks (9-6, 5-1) while Sarah Phillips (Downingtown West) led GW (4-11, 3-3) with three goals and two assists and Taylor Donohue (Radnor) added two assists.

Temple 14, St. Bonaventure 12

   Carly Cohen scored four goals and fellow freshman Melissa Schweitzer (Owen J. Roberts) added three as the Owls (3-11, 2-4) won the A-10 contest for their third staright victory.

Richmond 14, La Salle 5

    Sam Tijirian (Springfield-Delco) and fellow freshman Molly Early (Radnor) each scored once for the Spiders (5-11, 4-2) in their A-10 win. Jill Davis (Ridley) scored three goals for the Exploers. (4-10, 1-5).

Villanova 16, Longwood 13

    Taryn McKenna poured in seven goals to lead the Wildcats (7-7).

William & Mary 18, Drexel 12

    Katie Lawsone netted six goals for the Dragons (7-7, 0-5) in the Colonial Athletic Association loss. Emily Geary (Radnor) had nine saves in goal for W&M (8-6, 4-1).
