College wrap: ODU downs Drexel; Hawks, Explorers, Owls fall

    Ashley Kellogg (Downingtown West) scored four goals and Lisa Bernardini (George School) added a pair as host old Dominion toppled Drexel, 14-7 Sunday in Colonial Athletic Association women’s action.

    Ali Allen scored twice for the Dragons (7-8, 0-6).

Richmond 13, St. Joseph’s 5

    Sam Tijirian (Springfield-Delco) scored twice for the Spiders (6-11, 5-2) in their Atlantic 10 win. Jenna Martino and Hlene Tursi each scored twice for the Hawks (9-7, 5-2).

George Washington 16, La Salle 4

    Taylor Donohue (Radnor) had three goals and three assists and Sarah Phillips (Downingtown West) added a goal and two assists to lead GW (5-11, 4-3) to the A-10 win. Jill Davis (Ridley) had a goal and an assist for the Explorers (4-11, 1-6).

Duquesne 13, Temple 8

    Brittany Hoffman and Melissa Schweitzer (Owen J. Roberts) each fired in three goals for the Owls (3-12, 2-5) in their A-10 loss.

Marist 10, Canisius 9

    Kelly Condon (Abington) scored twice for Marist (10-4, 4-2) in its MAAC win.

Penn State 13, Ohio State 9

    Stephanie Ellsi (Radnor) made nine saves and Laura Lincicome (Conestoga) scored once for the Lions (7-7, 1-2). Kelly Haggerty (Unionville) had two goals and two assists for the Buckeyes (11-4, 2-1).

Division III

Cabrini 12, Colorado College 11

    Amanda Alexandrowicz (Ridley) notched six goals to lead the host Cavaliers (10-4) to the non-league win.

Men

Notre Dame 12, St. John’s 2

    Duncan Swezey (Hatboro-Horsham) had a goal and an assist as the host and third-ranked Irish (12-0) remained perfect with the non-league win.

Ohio State 16, Denver 10

    James Green (Central Bucks East) notched four goals as the Buckeyes (7-6, 3-1) claimed the Great Western Lacrosse League win. OSU will host undefeated and No. 3 Notre Dame Saturday at 11 a.m.
