Cabrini women picked to win CSAC

    Cabrini College’s women’s lacrosse team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the 2009 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll.

    The conference runner-up last season when it was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, the Cavaliers received seven of eight possible first-place votes for a total of 63 points to finish ahead of Gwynedd-Mercy. Cabrini is coached by Ridley graduate Jackie Neary.

    The Griffins earned a total of 52 points to finish in second place in the poll. Neumann was selected third with 42 points. 

    Notre Dame (39), Centenary (35), Marywood (23), Immaculata (19) and Cedar Crest (15) round out the voting.

    The 2009 CSAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship begins with semifinal action on Wednesday, April 29th.  The CSAC Championship Game is set for Saturday, May 2nd.
