Colin Keegan, John Cugini and Joe Venit each scored two goals and Josh Cavanaugh had a goal and four assists to power host Springfield-Delco to a 9-4 victory Monday over Lower Merion in Central League boys’ lacrosse.
The game was the league opener for the Cougars (4-0 overall), who are ranked third in the PIAA and fourth in the state in the PA Media Rankings. The Aces, ranked eighth in the PIAA, fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Jordan Demcher and Bobby Gildea also scored for Springfield while Joe Addona held Lower Merion standout attackman Jordan Wolf (committed to Duke) to one assist and Tyler Canada Matt Maccario and Brendan Nave were strong in front of goalie Austin Kaut. Billy McCullough dominated on face-offs for Springfield.
Radnor 14, Penncrest 2
The Red Raiders (3-1, 2-0, ranked sixth in PIAA) jumped to a 9-1 halftime lead and easily claimed the Central League win.
Cole Yeager won 12 for 16 face-offs and Tyler Andersen (one goal, two assists) was 4 for 4 at the X. Matt Cherry (four goals, one assist), Rob Norton (three goals, one assist), Spencer Lussier (two goals) Jordan Berstein (two goals), Jeff Puckette (one goal, three assists), John Dougherty (one goal), and Charlie Rubin (two assists) paced the Radnor attack. Craig Kasner and Dan Kelly scored for Penncrest (2-2, 0-2).
Upper Darby 12, Harriton 8
Andy Mardinley had three goals and four assists for her Royals (5-0, 1-0) in their Central League opener. Kevin Fonio added four goals and Jake Syre had three goals while Ryan Moris and Sean Riley added a goal. Dillon Burke had 13 saves for Upper Darby.
Noah Levin had three goals to lead Harriton (2-4, 0-1) while Will Caradas had three goals and Nate Kotarra had two a pair.
Ridley 11, Marple Newtown 7
Tyler Johnston and Pat Zimmerman each scored three goals for the Green Raiders (4-1, 1-0) as they won their Central League opener. Phil Graziano led Marple (4-1, 0-1) with five goals.
Conestoga 9, Garnet Valley 4
PaulMita and Matt Smith tallied three goals each to pace the No. 1 Pioneers (5-0, 1-0) to a win in their Central League opener.
North Penn 10, Souderton 4
Paul Reutemann and Dylan Harris each scored three goals as the Knights (1-3, 1-2) claimed the Suburban One Continental Conference win. North Penn dominated the game on ground balls and fended off 7 of 8 penalties.
The Indians got goals from Josh Burke, J.P. Carroll, Bryan Ziegler and Sean Becker (one assist). Grant Nice made 11 saves in goal and Josh Reynolds had a strong game on defense.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 18, Upper Moreland 1
The Colonials (1-4, 1-3) won their first game as Colin Joka amassed six goals and three assists Also for PW, Chris McKinney had four goals, Sean McLernan had three goals and three assists, Joe Hughes had two goals and five assists and Sean Kaplan, Pat Kennedy and Zack Schulman each scored once. Kevin Hennessey (5 saves) and Pete Orler (3 saves) split the goaltending duties.
Aaron Kim had a goal and three groundballs for Upper Moreland (3-1, 1-1) while Jimmy Cramer had an assist and Max Schubert recorded 6 saves.
Upper Dublin 4, Wissahickon 3
Casey Boyd scored the game-winner with six minutes to play to lift the Cards (4-2, 3-0) past the Trojans (2-2, 2-1) in the key Suburban One American Conference game.
Hatboro-Horsham 18, Central Bucks South 2
Springfield-Montco 14, Norristown 6
Joe Rogers scored four goals, Nick Barraclough had two goals and five assists and Martin Goldfarb added two goals and four assists to lead the Spartans in the Suburban one American win. RJ Langlois added two goals, Eric Schlater had a goal and two assists and Ben Hasday had one goal while Dylan Evans made nine saves

Andrew Bamber and Tyler Shablin scored twice and Chris Gifford had four assists for the winning Indians (2-1). Chris Gifford, Tyler Hamilton, Shane Perdikis and Sam Weinstein each added one goal and Dom Colarusso made 11 saves in the cage.
Neshaminy 14 North Catholic 4
John Sutton had six goals and an assist while Chris Brady had four goals and six assists as Neshaminy (2-2) got a non-league victory.
Archbishop Wood 13, Central Bucks West 3
Greg Woodward, Sean McCartney, Dustan Mangin and Matt Steele each had two goals and Ben Worthington made eight saves for Wood (2-2) in its non-league win over the Bucks. Jon Hoynak had two gals for West.
Lansdale Catholic 12, Archbishop Carroll 6
Liam Malley had five of his seven goals in the second half as LC (3-1) rallied from a 3-2 first-period deficit to cruise to the Catholic League cross-over win. Pat White added two goals for LC. Joe lerario led Carroll with three goals.

Cody Isdander had three goals and four assists and Britt Potter had three goals and an assist as EA (5-1) raced to a 6-0 halftime lead and won the non-league game. Andrew Gordon added two assists for the Churchmen.

Tyler Novotny scored eight goals to pace the Rams (3-1, 2-0) to the Pioneer Athletic Conference win.Jesse Ercole recorded 19 saves for the Rams while Kevin Krasely stopped 20 shots for the Vikings (2-2, 3-2) and Justin Morgan scored five goals.

Kohl Batdorf had four goals, Charlie Stein had three and Greg Nester two for the Wildcats (6-0, 3-0) in their PAC-10 win.Scott Earley led the Warriors with a pair of goals.

Matt Salvetti netted four goals for the Bears in the PAC-10 victory. Matt Talarico led the Phantoms wih two goals.

Tim Golder netted three goals for Avon Grove (3-1, 2-0) in its Ches-Mont League victory.
Henderson 10, Downingtown West 6
Ryan Brewer and Ethan Heisman each scord three goals for the Warriors (3-2, 1-0) in their Ches-Mont win. Jamie Reazor had a hat trick for the Whippets.
Unionville 13, Bayard Rustin 4
Nick Bacci scored three goals while Joe Lisicky added two goals and two assists for the Indians (3-1, 1-0) in their Ches-Mont win.
Chris Srinivasan had two goals for Rustin (2-4, 0-2).
Kennett 15, Octorara 2
Kyle Kenyon led Kennett (2-3) with five goals in its non-league win.
West Chester East 14, Cardinal O’Hara 0
Matt Maday scored five goals and Matt Biegel had four as WCE (4-0) blanked visiting Cardinal O’Hara, giving Vikings’ coach Jon Heisman his 300th carer victory.
