The John Nostrant Summer Lacrosse Camps for boys in grades K through 8 will be held in three sessions during the summer at The Haverford School.
The camps, Winner of the Best of the Main Line’s “Best Lacrosse Camp Award,” will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 21-24 (Session 1), July 5-8 (Session 2) and July 12-15 (Session 3).
The camps feature top instruction for all levels; beginner, novice and advanced. There will be experienced coaches from all over the area. The focus of instruction will be on individual skill development and improvement and feature positional instruction for attack, midfield, defense, goalies, and face-offs. Also, instruction will focus on slicker stickwork with both hands, harder and more accurate shooting, dodging to score and feed, dominating defense (defending the field and checks). For goalies, the focus is on quicker hands and efficient outlet passes.
Team concepts also will be stresses with these objectives: transition and settled offense and defense, reading half and full field situations and constant activity and high repetition drills.
The camp features a full-time certified sports-medicine staff, an experienced adult staff of current high school coaches and players and three turf fields. There also will be guest speakers, huge giveaways and championship Thursdays. The event is sponsored by Competitive Edge.
