Villa Maria Academy twins Beth and Kathy Young heads the list of 15 recruits for Cindy Timchal (Haverford High) as she enters her third year as the first coach at the Naval Academy.

Timchal announced her third full recruiting class just over two months after her second-year Midshipmen squad recorded 13 wins and reached the finals of the Patriot League Championship game.

“To date, this is the best class I have had the privilege to recruit to the Academy,” said Timchal. “It’s a large group full of talented athletes that will bring lots of speed and really raise our overall level of athleticism. We’re excited about bringing these young women here and believe they will play a major role in helping us take that next step as a program.”

Navy elevated to varsity status in the June of 2006, and has kicked off its Division I tenure in terrific fashion, reeling off 26 wins and earning Patriot League Tournament appearances in each of its first two seasons.
