Six men from Philly make college Academic All-American teams

    Six Philadelphia graduates have been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and CoSIDA Academic All-American teams.

    Named USILA Academic All-American include: Penn senior attackman Craig Andrzejewski, Hofstra senior midfielder Michael Colleluori (Ridley), Cabrini senior attackman Scott Reimer (Downingtown West) and Wesley College senior defenseman Kirk Waldie (Ridley).

    Named to the CoSida Academic All-American Team were Drexel attackman Colin Ambler (Abington) in the University Division and Goucher senior midfielder Alex Boucher (Germantown Academy) in the College Division.

    Ambler earned the Academic All-District honor for the first time after completing an excellent season on and off the lacrosse field. The junior was a First-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association attackman for the Dragons after leading the team in goals (21), assists (16) and points (37) on the season. He already ranks 12th all-time at Drexel in career assists and is 20th in career scoring. Ambler was a 2008 CAA Scholar Athlete of the Year recipient and an Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for men’s lacrosse. A five-time member of the Dean’s List, Ambler holds a 3.6 cumulative GPA in business administration.

    Boucher, who has a 3.94 GPA in Economics, had 13 goals and 3 assists for Goucher (10-5) this year.
