Philly grads lead Scranton past Immaculata; Gwynedd Mercy falls

    Brett Greer (Ridley) scored three goals, Daniel Slade (Central Bucks East) added two and Mike Rufo (Haverford School) and Matt Glenn (Central Bucks East) scored once each to help host Scranton dominate Immaculata, 19-4, Tuesday in Division III men’s action.

     For the game, the Royals (1-1) out-shot the Mighty Macs, 55-18, and won the battel of face-offs, 20-5.  Scranton also held a 53-30 advantage in ground balls.

    Junior Andrew Sim (Interboro) made 17 saves for Immaculata (0-1). The Mighty Macs’ offense was led by sophomore attacker Brendan Dinneen (Archbishop Wood) with two goals while junior midfielders Zach Krytzer and Tom Hartney (Interboro) chipped in one apiece. 

Hood 12, Gwynedd Mercy 7

    Steven Miner (Garnet Valley) scored three goals and Nicholas Hummel added two for the Griffins (0-2) in their loss to the hosts (1-1).

Division I

Virginia 10 Mt. St. Mary’s 2

    Freshman Christian Kellett (Malvern Prep) had an assist for the Mount while junior Ken Clausen (Hill School) scooped six groundballs to lead the defense for the second-ranked Cavaliers (4-0).
