Matt Striebel, Michael Springer and Seth Goldberg scored four goals apiece Sunday as the Philadelphia Barrage defeated the Long Island Lizards, 18-12, in a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) game at Dallas’ Texas Stadium.
The game was the first pro lacrosse game ever played in the state of Texas. The two-time defending champion Barrage are playing all their “home” games on the road this year because the sale of the team is pending.
Goalkeeper Brian Dougherty (Episcopal Academy) had 18 saves in earning the 50th win of his career.
Jed Prossner, the game MVP added two goals and four assists for Philadelphia, which broke open an 8-6 halftime lead by scoring five of the first six goals in the second half. Justin Smith also scored twice for the Barrage, which plays Saturday in Rochester, N.Y.
